Our first match of 2026 took place at Sherborne Lake as the river at NP was in flood, no surprise there. The weather was horrendous with torrential rain the whole match, winner on the day was Andy with 3.08, 2nd Nigel 8oz, 3rd Roy 3oz, 4th John 2oz, Andy won with a Tench on the feeder

2nd NON POINTS MATCH
The 2nd non point match took place at Sherborne Lake on Sunday 22nd February and was dominated by big fish, Bream to 6lb, Skimmers to 4lb and Tench 4-5lb, all the fish were caught on feeder tactics with the bay the favoured area, winner on the day with 26lb Was Nigel, 2nd Bob 23.12, 3rd Kim 9.08

1st POINTS MATCH SHERBORNE LAKE
Sunday 25th March saw our 1st points of 2026 and what can I say, the lake had been fishing reasonably well with some nice Bream, Skimmers and Roach and then match day, gale force winds, cold, rain and the fish were not feeding but that is fishing, winner on the day was Kev with one Tench 5.12, 2nd Joe one Tench 5.00, 3rd Gary one skimmer 2.14 and 4th Nigel one Skimmer 2.10, the turnout was again fantastic with 23 anglers fishing

2nd POINTS MATCH SHERBORNE LAKE
The 2nd points match took place at the lake on Sunday 29th March and weights were better despite the cold westerly wind, the match was dominated by Skimmers between 1.5 and 4lb, winner on the day was Joe with 12.04, 2nd Rich with 8.04, 3rd was Kim with 5.04 and 4th was Nigel with 5.02, all the fish fell to feeder tactics with maggot or worm

3RD POINTS MATCH SHERBORNE LAKE
The match took place on Sunday 12th April and was fished on pegs 12-41c, I must sound like a broken record as it was hard going again and weights were down, winner on the day and Golden Peg winner was Rob on peg 12, he had 1 Bream and a Few Skimmers for 13.00, 2nd Gary with 7.10, 3rd John with 5.04, 4th was Roy and Steve with 4.07, all the fish were caught on the feeder

4TH POINTS MATCH SHERBORNE LAKE
The match took place on Sunday 26th April and was again painfully hard, the fish just weren’t feeding, winner on the day was Rich with 4.06. 2nd was Joe with 4.02. 3rd Rob 3.10 and 4th Steve with 2.09, most of the fish caught were Tench and Hybrids as the Bream and Skimmers didn’t show.

5TH POINTS MATCH SHERBORNE LAKE
The match took place on Sunday 10th May and it was extremely hard going again for the 22 anglers that attended with one complete section not getting a bite, the winner on the day was Joe with 13.08 which included a 8lb Bream, 2nd was Chris with one Tench for 6.06, 3rd was Gary with one Tench for 5.08 and 4th was Jim with a Skimmer for 1.02, all the fish were caught on the feeder.

Sherborne lake was very clear, wall to wall sunshine , over 30 degrees and the fish were spawning so yet again not a good recipe hence the match was hard, winner on the day was Joe with 6.07 2nd Rich with 6.00 3rd was Dan with 2.10 and 4th was Kev with 2.00

Our latest non points match was hard going again (I am beginning to sound like a broken record) with no big fish caught, it was all small silvers so the whip boys are getting excited as the small fish are now in the margins but not in great numbers, winner was Paul with 4.04, 2 Geoff 3.00, 3 Nigel 0.9 and 4 was Gary 0.2

Sunday 21st June saw the 8th points match at a really hot lake and very little breeze,winner on the day was Gary with 7.09 of silvers caught on the whip, 2nd was Rich with 6.10, 3rd was Dan with 6.00 and 4th was Steve with 5.14. Silvers made up most of the weights with a Tench and a few small Carp

The match took place at the lake and was dominated by silvers and the winner with 16.12 was Andy, 2nd was Kieran with 13.00, 3rd was Nigel with 11.05 and 4th was Rich with 11.04, nearly all fished the pole or whip, I would like to say well done to our junior member Alfie who had over 5lb
