SAD TIMES FOR OUR RIVERS

This photo was probably taken well overs 50 years ago of our river at Newton Park when it was maintained and looked after, it is twice the width than it is today, no trees in the river, no overgrown river banks and in prestige condition
The river below is the same river today just a bit further along towards Newton house and this is what it has become, growing up as a kid I can remember when most days you would see gangs of men from the NRA working on and maintaining our rivers but sadly not any more
