SHERBORNE LAKE UPDATE

Over the last few weeks the lake has been producing some brilliant catches, we are seeing some nice Roach, Perch, skimmers, Tench and Carp, the fish are being caught all over the lake and this is probably down to the mild wet weather conditions, below are some photos sent in by members.

The downside at the moment is the amount of Cormorants on the lake and as they are a protected species there is not a lot we can do but what we can do is deter these birds from feeding on the lake, each bird will take a pound of fish per day I know this may sound ridiculous but just clapping your hands, blowing a whistle or banging a bait box on a side tray will spook these birds and hopefully deter them, we can all play our part in this when we are fishing the lake and it really does work and will persevere our fish stocks.
