OUR RIVERS

OUR RIVERS
This year the club has been busy trying to get our rivers up and running, but this is not an easy task as they have been neglected for many years, we have sent out a survey to members and would love to hear from you regarding your catches, access, where you fish and photos, some of the committee have been trying to obtain what fish are in our rivers and where,

The Yeo in Yeovil at Wyndham hill has Roach, Rudd, perch, gudgeon, chub and bream and no doubt some pike and trout, the river at long load have roughly the same plus carp and pike, our SLAC water on the Isle and parrett hold some big pike, bream and chub, many of the rivers in the summer months are hard to access due to bank vegetation and swims on the shallower parts are very weedy but the deeper stretches can offer a good days fishing, we will be meeting the EA later in the year to try and make some progress in maintaining our rivers and improving the fishing, many thanks to the members that have completed the survey and offered help with maintenance and becoming a club bailiff.
