LEWESTON AND YSAA
The first of our getting children back into angling took place at Revels fishery on Sunday 12th May and was a great success.
We had 22 children of mixed ability, some who had fished a few times and some never, the children fished in pairs and were helped and assisted by committee and club members, they fished a 3m whip and were shown how to bait up, check the depth, unhooking, loose feeding and using a landing net. We decided to have a match and the children were really up for this, at the end of the 2 hour match everyone had caught carp, roach, Rudd, perch, goldfish, gudgeon and tench, there were prizes for the biggest overall weight which was 6lb and for the biggest fish which was a tench of 2lb 10oz, the weather was sunny and warm which made it the perfect day.
YSAA would like to thank our membership secretary Paul Giles for organising the event and Jason of Revels fishery for hosting, also many thanks to Tackle UK and Fjuka for donating tackle and bait, Geoff Smalley, Mick Richens, Andy Brown and Gary Critchell for helping out
