YSAA NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2024
YSAA NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2024
Dear Member
Hope this newsletter finds you well and you are enjoying your fishing, I have been out at Sutton Bingham and the fishing is mental, lots of carp, Rudd and Roach, I have been having a sneaky practice for the Christmas match ☺☺☺
NEWS
Our lake membership was caped back at the beginning of the year and we have almost reached our limit, as it stands at the moment we only have two lake memberships available so if anyone knows someone who is thinking of joining now is the time, we still have river membership available as there is no limit regarding this.
We are still eagerly awaiting a phone call from Tom at Priory fisheries with a date for our tench delivery, as the weather is cooler and water temperatures are dropping it should be any time soon (we will keep you updated) the club and our chairman Graham would like to thank all the members again who made a donation for this to happen, we will be putting in £6,000 worth as the club matched the total raised by the donations. On a personal note I have been blown away by how far the club has come in a very short space of time and long may it continue, THANK YOU.
LAKE
The lake is producing some lovely bags of Roach, members are reporting 20-30lb bags from the end of the woods to the islands, the bay is also seeing roach of a pound plus, the big bream are still showing but not in large numbers 9.06 is the biggest reported in the last month, we are still catching tench 5-6lb and small carp up to 8lb, lots of skimmers are still being caught, quite a few members have ask what is the best method My answer would be there isn’t one, it all depends on the day and as you know no two day are the same on the lake, don’t forget the lake pike season starts on 1st October
MATCH NEWS
The last point match fished a lot better with 27lb+ winning and some good backing weights, Rich is still leading the points with 4 matches to go but anyone in the top 4/5 could be crowned points champion 2024, I do know it won’t be me😭😭😭, our Christmas match at Sutton Bingham is already SOLD OUT and the tickets only went on sale a few days ago, I now have a waiting list should anyone drop out
RIVERS
The rivers are fishing okay and now the bank vegetation should start to die back so more of our rivers will be more accessible, lots of small fish at long load and wick and some big chub being caught at midelney on the SLAC water, the drain in front of pump station might be hard to access as the EA are carrying out major work. If you have got a few minutes to spare we would love you to complete our survey which was sent out by email, the more we know about our rivers the more we can do to improve the fishing, many thanks
Before I sign off I would like to thank all of you for your support
In moving the club forward
Kind regards Gary
